Judge Brent Keis has twice been awarded The Bruce Auld Award (1998,2004) for his contribution to alternative dispute resolution. He has had the honor of being elected a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Tarrant County Bar Foundation in recognition of his service and devotion to the highest traditions of the Bar.  He served as the Administrative  Judge of the Tarrant County Courts (Civil, Criminal and Probate) from 1993-1996.  Judge Keis has also been awarded membership in the honorary academic fraternities, Phi Delta Phi (legal studies), Phi Alpha Theta (history studies) and Phi Kappa Phi (general studies).


Judge Keis  is a 32nd degree Master Mason of the Handley Masonic Lodge and the Fort Worth Scottish Rite. He was an active member of the Order of DeMolay in Weatherford and was awarded it's highest honor, the Degree of Chevalier.  Years later, Judge Keis was further honored by the Order by the conference upon him of the Legion of Honor in recognition of his outstanding leadership in his chosen field of endeavor.

Judge R. Brent Keis was appointed to the bench of County Court at Law No. 1 in 1989 by Governor Bill Clements with the unanimous approval of the Tarrant County Commissioners Court and the Texas Senate.
